Upsides – the  Charity Fundraiser Art Exhibition at Edmondson Hall Solicitors, Newmarket.

Chief executive and co-founder of Edmondson Hall, Mark Edmondson and I with the signed portrait of Frankie Dettori.

The show of my recent paintings that we held in November was very well received. I’d like to thank Mark Edmondson, and his amazing staff at Edmondson Hall for allowing me to exhibit in their wonderful reception area, for all their help, and for making the evening such a success.

The ‘Invitation Only’ private view on the Thursday before the show officially opened was very well attended, by a mix of clients of the practice, clients and friends of mine, and some leading figures from the world of horseracing. These included David Elsworth, Cormac McCormac, Luca and Sarah Cumani, Hugh and Emma Anderson, Pat Owen, Rae Guest and Michael O’ Hagan.

We sold 11 paintings on the night, and 3 more prior to the Gallery Evening. The portrait of Frankie Dettori that Frankie kindly signed for us, made £850, all of which went to the Injured Jockey Fund, and Racing Welfare. I was delighted to find out later that the winning bid was an ‘in house’ bid, meaning that the painting will remain at Edmondson Hall in Newmarket.

In total, with the commission on sales of my other paintings, books and cards, the evening raised over £1,300 for these two important charities.

Sincere thanks again to the team at Edmonsdon Hall for all their hard work.
